Picking Peaches

Last week we went peach picking for the first time ever.  We have picked apples and strawberries before, but never peaches.  Some advice if you ever do it - they weigh more than you think!

Well that's about all the pictures I got, sorry!  My hands were full of baby and buckets, so it was a little difficult to juggle everything.  Hopefully I'll get more when we go back for blueberries!!

Promotion

The Major is no longer Major!  He is now Lieutenant Colonel!  The promotion ceremony was very nice and everyone treated us so kindly.

Baptism

Our little one  was baptised a week after her birth.  Unfortunately her Godparents couldn't be there. We were fortunate, however, to have some wonderful new friends stand in for them.

We are so happy that our little one now has a squeaky clean soul..............oh to be a baby!

I'm still alive!

I know it's been forever - but I've been so  busy.  Having a baby is time consuming! I have lots to share but lets start with the baby pictures shall we!

May Crowning

The girls took part in the May Crowning today.  Thomasina Tittlemouse got to crown the Blessed Mother and Jemima Puddle duck carried the crown. Everyone looked so sweet!  The pictures got a little out of order, but I'm sure you can figure things out!



Color your Hair Naturally

I've been feeling like my hair was looking a little dull lately. It just seemed flat and monotone. I though about henna, but since I'm not a risk taker I couldn't get myself to do it. I found a nice herbal mix at The Bulk Herb Store, but it had henna too, so the chicken side of me said NO! Instead I decided to try a herbal rinse. If you have dark hair you can rinse it after you wash it with a tea made from rosemary or sage. I don't have a good relationship with sage, ( its too reminiscent of stuffed turkey) so I picked rosemary. An added bonus is that it is suppose to help curly hair curl. So every morning I rinsed my hair with a rosemary tea that I let brew over night.  After a few days I decided to add a small stick of cinnamon to the mix. This made it smell very nice and added a touch of red. So after a week of rinsing, my hair is slightly darker with red highlights. I don't think anyone would say to me  - wow - you colored your hair, but when the light hits it I can see the red and Mr. Bouncer said he thought it looked darker. I suppose if I did it another week it would be even more noticeable, but the chicken in me is going to stop for now!

Home Sweet Home

Not my new house!

     Well here we are at last, finally getting settled!  Moving in my opinion is so tiring, but this time it was worth the effort.  Our new home is very nice with much more personality than our previous house; it has a quaint cottage-like charm.   The problem with being in the military is that when you get a new house you think"If this were my house I would...." but since its only temporary one cannot start replacing furniture and whatnot. We military wives must make our furniture fit into all types of houses, so what was once in the living room may be in the dining room after the next move. (which actually is the case this time around!) No matter, be it every so humble, there's no place like home! There are still plenty of boxes to unpack, but the first floor is just about finished which is great! Hopefully soon life will get back to normal. I'm looking forward to planting flowers and herbs in the yard after all the boxes are gone, then things will really be like home!
